Owning a Business and Stay Home Mom
When I think of the homemaker who is also a business owner, the Proverbs 31 woman comes to mind. This is the woman I aspire to be. I have a passion for seeing people use the talents God has blessed them with. No talent is greater than another. What motivates you? I was motivated to start a business because I needed to be flexible to raise my children and care for my home. Those were my first priority, business comes behind those areas. What frustrates me the most, is all of the so called “business opportunites” they have out there for women. All targeting women who want to stay home to raise their children and still earn an income. I have been guilty of trying a few. Seldom are people successful with the multi-level marketing opportunities. Most other opportunities are just fraud.
If you are a woman who want to stay home to raise your children and still earn an income, I encourage you to go completely solo. Start your very own business providing your talent. Don’t buy into ready made businesses, be individual and original. The nature of my company is web and software development. My team have the skill to help women build their businesses online. We provide a solution for any budget. Our mission is to get you started in the right direction with your very own vision, providing the service or product you produce from your own talents.
The Proverbs 31 woman reminds me a lot of what I consider the Modern Homemaker. The modern homemaker in my opinion, is a woman who is confident enough to choose to put family before career, realizing that the career does not have to be out of the picture altogether. The career can still be developed, but at a pace that works for herself and her family. There will be a day when the nest is empty, (sigh). In this time, you will be able to pick up the pace of your business. The Proverbs 31 woman had all of the qualities that I consider valuable. She was honest, hard working, confident, loving, smart, strong, virtuous and so much more. I intend to model this for my two daughter and for other women.
Being a business owner has allowed me to be the sole caretaker of my daughters. The experience has been priceless. It has afforded our family the opportunity to homeschool them. Now, they are of age to learn about business and explore their own talents for business purposes. I am able to impart wisdom in all areas of life from homemaking, academics, social interactivity, politics and business principles. What an awesome opportuity!! We have such a great time together.
I would love to hear from you. Please share your story with me.
