What is a Modern Homemaker?
Being a christian, wife, mother, homeschooler, business owner and a conservative defines me.
Why did i start this blog? First of all, it’s because I am not really a gifted writer. This is my opportunity to express myself in words without the scrutiny of the professor or an editor. Blogging is so casual. It is perfect for me. So, to be able to ramble with the best of them, i begin by introducing myself. I am a Christian, wife, mother, homeschooler, business owner, and conservative. A Modern Day Homemaker.
Being married for 17 years with 2 daughters age 16 and 11, and living most of the time as a homemaker, i would say i have been at this for a long time. By trade, I am a programmer and my small business provides quality websites and custom programming. I was inspired to start this business so that I can stay home and rear my own children and satisfy my desire to produce. I have taken baby seats (of course with the baby in tow) to several business meetings. Sometimes a baby and a 5 year old at the same time. I always felt we can merge business and family together.
I have a lot of interest. So balancing family and work from home has always been a challenge. I totally love working anywhere around the house. I guess you can say I am not always structured with work. Many times I am sitting in the family room on my laptop and going back and forth from cooking, cleaning and working all at the same time. The flexibility really works for me.
I also love to cook. For many years we have tried many recipes not repeating a meal for months. I love to sew, by hand because I never quite grasped the sewing machine. Maybe one day….. Reading is my favorite activity. Walking is my choice exercise so that i can clear my thoughts.
During the next year, I plan to tackle some new projects and so much fun! I am much of a techie, but I am also quite artistic. I haven’t explored my artistic side in many years and am now having some interest in it. So, stay tuned as I try some things for fun. I will be sharing some tales of failure, trying again, and success!
Welcome and I look forward to hearing from you! I hope you will join in the fun too!
